About the UK Visa Sponsor Register

What VisaSponsorUK is, where the data comes from, and how to read a sponsor licence.

The official register of licensed sponsors is maintained by the Home Office (UKVI) and contains all companies authorised to employ foreign workers under various visa routes. The most common route is the Skilled Worker visa (previously known as the Tier 2 General visa), which allows UK employers to sponsor skilled professionals from outside the UK.

To sponsor a visa, a UK company must apply for and maintain a valid sponsor licence. In this directory, you can search and verify companies holding active licences, check their ratings (like A-rated), and view which specific routes they are licensed for.

Sponsors are given ratings by UKVI based on their compliance with sponsorship duties. An A-rating is the standard status for fully compliant employers who can issue Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS). If an employer fails to meet their duties, their rating may be downgraded or their licence entirely revoked.

Our tool parses and monitors the daily updates from the official GOV.UK register to provide a clean, searchable history of additions, removals, and modifications, helping you keep track of new employment opportunities.
